Who we are
A practice built on patience and honest assessment
Niran Sethi is a Bangkok-based business consulting practice. We work with owners and leadership teams who want to understand their organisation more clearly — and move forward from that understanding, thoughtfully.

How we came to do this work
Niran Sethi was established in Bangkok with a particular belief: that business owners and senior leaders often already know what needs to change — they simply need someone willing to sit alongside them, listen carefully, and help bring that clarity into focus.
Our founder spent nearly two decades working with organisations across manufacturing, financial services, and consumer goods before concluding that the most valuable thing an outside advisor can offer is not a templated solution, but a considered presence — someone who asks good questions, provides structured analysis, and stays long enough to see whether the guidance actually lands.
We work primarily with mid-sized Thai enterprises and ASEAN regional organisations navigating moments of deliberate reflection or transition. Our engagements are intentionally sized so that we can give each client appropriate attention, rather than managing a large portfolio of superficial relationships.
Our office sits in Sathorn — in the quiet of Soi 10, a short distance from the river. The neighbourhood suits us. There is something right about working near water when the practice itself is built on the idea of unhurried, forward movement.
Our Mission
To provide business leaders in Thailand and the wider region with clear, honest, and practically grounded advisory support — so that the decisions they make are informed by an accurate picture of their organisation, not an optimistic or convenient one.
Our Vision
A business environment in Thailand where organisations routinely seek and engage with external perspective as a normal part of leadership — not as a response to crisis, but as a sign of confidence and long-term orientation.
Our Values
Candour with care. Patience over speed. Substance over appearance. We hold these not as slogans but as working principles that shape how we structure engagements, how we communicate findings, and how we behave when the work becomes difficult.
The people behind the work

How we hold ourselves accountable
Professional Standards
Our practice is shaped by a set of professional commitments that we apply consistently across every engagement we undertake.
Confidentiality Agreements
Every engagement begins with a mutual confidentiality agreement. Client information is never discussed, shared, or referenced outside the scope of the engagement.
Evidence-Based Methodology
Our recommendations are built on data, structured interviews, and documented analysis — not assumptions or generalisations adapted from other sectors.
Independent Perspective
We do not take referral fees, vendor commissions, or implementation revenue. Our counsel is financially independent, which allows us to offer it honestly.
Clear Communication Norms
Progress updates, deliverable timelines, and findings are communicated in plain language. We avoid jargon when clarity is the goal.
Post-Engagement Review
At the close of each engagement, we conduct a structured debrief with the client. This is not a formality — it is how we learn and how we hold ourselves to account.
Conflict of Interest Disclosure
Before commencing any engagement, we identify and disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest. If a conflict cannot be managed appropriately, we decline the engagement.
Our expertise and context
Advisory practice in the Thai business context
Thailand's business environment has particular characteristics that shape how advisory work needs to be conducted. Relationship structures, decision-making hierarchies, and communication norms across Thai organisations differ meaningfully from those in Western markets. An outside advisor who does not account for this context will miss important dynamics — and their counsel will be less useful as a result.
Our advisory practice is grounded in the Thai context. The organisations we work with operate within family-owned holding structures, publicly listed companies with concentrated ownership, government-linked enterprises, and regional businesses with cross-border operations. We understand how governance, succession considerations, and stakeholder relationships play out across these environments.
For organisations undertaking diagnostics, the quality of the analysis depends on the willingness of people within the business to share accurate information. That willingness is earned over time, through respectful engagement and demonstrated discretion. We invest in building those conditions before drawing conclusions.
Partnership development in ASEAN carries its own complexity — counterpart assessment, cultural alignment, and the careful management of early-stage relationship dynamics all matter as much as commercial terms. Our advisory work in this area reflects that understanding.
